On Stage 4, Michael Sheehan came out worst of a small pile of riders that went down about 13 miles in. That meant 122 miles with +/- 9,000 feet of climbing like this. He must have been a close 2nd for the stage’s Most Courageous Rider award.

The Team always enjoy the unique atmosphere in the week running up to The Redlands Bicycle Classic. The city of Redlands is “ground zero” for Jelly Belly Cycling presented by MAXXIS.
The 30-year-old race is best known for home stays and school visits.
The Big Buddies program at University of Redlands, providing after school care for kids 6 to 14 from Redlands, Highland, Yucaipa, and San Bernardino was a particularly fun visit.

The Team are relying on this group’s support this weekend at The Redlands Bicycle Classic.

Fresh helmets for young cycling fans were provided by Inland Empire Health Program.

Maddie Bogh, Amanda Woodle, and Willow Higgins are the U of R students and mentors in the Big Buddies program.

Danny Van Haute takes questions from an engaged crowd at big Buddies.

This Big Buddies mentee couldn’t believe how light the professional bikes are! We hope to see her out at Saturday’s criterium or Sunday’s Sunset Loop circuit race.

After a solid week of team photos, interviews, and sponsor meetings, with some sunny southern California rides mixed in, your entire team will return to racing today at The 16th Annual Boulevard Road Race just east of San Diego. The often-stormy season opener looks set for mid-to-high 70s today and the 90-mile Pro race starts at 12:50. We’ll be there, so if coverage permits we’ll have live tweets and ‘grams.
Before we get underway, meet Kevin Marques Oliviera. Before riders even arrived, Kevin put in tireless days sorting, preparing, and building the race and training road bikes and the time trial bikes. Then, we have to recognize more hard work at camp keeping bikes gleaming for photography while dialing fit and individual preferences for The Team. Thank you, Kevin, and welcome to The Team!
