Jelly Belly Cycling presented by MAXXIS have signed rising star Ulises Castillo for the remainder of the 2016 season and 2017.
Castillo, 25, lit Southern California up this season with a stage win at Redlands, overall at Tour of Murrieta, Temecula Grand Prix, Sea Otter Classic’s road and crit stages, and many more.
“The Team have been on the lookout for the right all-rounder with a blazing sprint,” said Sports Director, Danny van Haute. “Ulises showed us exactly that in the races we did as part of training camp this spring and our sights have been set on him ever since.”
Castillo, who hails from Sinaloa, Mexico, will make his debut at The 37th Annual Cascade Cycling Classic beginning this Wednesday, July 20th. He brings a final-kilometer kick that should suit Tour of Alberta very well, when launched by the super-strong squad we have become used to seeing this season.
“I am so excited to race with Jelly Belly,” added Castillo. “For me, it is a big step, so I am going to take the opportunity to help The Team and get some wins!”
